In American and British culture, the Bleeding Heart has a passionate meaning and is often exchanged as a symbol of true love. Some religious groups choose to plant the flower as a reminder of compassion for the suffering of others. It can represent people who share their emotions freely and wear their heart on their sleeve too.

My grandmother explained the parts of the bleeding heart in a different way, and I’m wondering if anyone remembers a similar explanation. I remember her saying that the two pink lobes were bunnies, the interior pieces became Cinderella’s high heeled slippers, and the center piece was the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand. I can’t remember the other two pieces, but they sort of look like old fashioned ice skates. Somehow, my grandmother wove this all into the story of Cinderella. Who else knows?
Excellent article! I am looking for the childhood story where as you examine the parts of the flower you recite a little poem about the prince and princess, the dragon and the sword. Each represented by parts of the flower as you pull it apart. You came closer to the story than others. Thank you!

The internet, seeming to be a mysterious thing to you two, is vast. You can easily find your answers elsewhere. Maybe the both of you could calm down a little instead of cussing about an article someone worked hard on.
